The TIFF13 Countdown Continues – 6 Days – ‘August: Osage County’ Trailer

August 30, 2013 By Thelma Leave a Comment

Watch this trailer — and you want to watch the movie immediately. Based on Tracy Letts’s Pulitzer-Prize Winning play about a dysfunctional family reunited for a funeral comes to the screen with Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts as bickering mother and daughter. Not star-chocked enough? George Clooney produced! With Benedict Cumberbatch, Sam Shepard, Ewan McGregor and more!

DVD Review: Eat, Pray, Love

November 18, 2010 By Thelma Leave a Comment

Eat, Pray, Love, Julia Roberts, Elizabeth Gilbert, Rome, Bali, India

Us Rating: **

This gorgeous but irritating chick flick follows Liz (Julia Roberts) around the globe after her divorce. Seeking enlightenment, she hops from NYC to Rome to India to Bali, linking up with an actor (James Franco) and a Brazilian expat (a sexy Javier Bardem). The movie is sumptuous, filled with tasty food and National Geographic–style scenery. But Liz comes across as too self-involved — and the navel gazing narration (ripped from the memoir) doesn’t help. (Sony Pictures, $29)
